With a shipside ‘meet & greet’ Da Nang (Chan May) Port, we make the 90 minute-drive directly to Hoi An through the Hai Van Tunnel and outskirts of Da Nang city.

* If time & weather permits, travellers coming from Chan May port will have the opportunity to drive past beautiful Lang Co bay and the stunning 21km Hai Van pass – made famous by the BBC’s ‘Top Gear’ programme who described it as; ‘a deserted ribbon of perfection, one of the best coast roads in the world’!

We enter UNESCO listed Hoi An old town for our walking tour visiting temples and historic houses with Vietnamese, Chinese, Hindu, Japanese and Portuguese influences. And of course our Japanese Bridge of 1719. We visit the Central Market to see how our local people shop daily for foods that are picked fresh for market that same day. And this is THE place to start our foodie journey.

This is about food for everyday central Vietnam and prepared with pride at an everyday price for local people at market food stalls, street restaurants and what sometimes appears to be the owner’s front room!

We try 10+ local delicacies of Hoi An!

Vietnamese coffee to central Vietnam’s famous spring rolls and BBQ pork skewers, from steam savoury rice cakes to deep fried seafood wonton ending with locals favourite street dessert, we try it all! And this tour can be tailored for vegetarians – please let us know in advance.

And at the end of your culinary journey, we ensure you are returned safely to your ship in plenty of time for your onward journey.
